Umakanta Giri

Umakanta Giri is a social entrepreneur and the Founder of Seveneva Foundation, a Section 8 non-profit focused on agriculture, rural development, and environmental restoration. Drawing on his background in marketing and community development—and formal training through a Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture Extension Management (PGDAEM)—Umakanta builds programs that are simple to use, community-owned, and outcome-driven.

At Seveneva, he leads initiatives such as AI Krishi Advisor (a WhatsApp voice advisor for farmers), FPO & Market Linkages, WASH & School Health, Skills & Micro-enterprise, the Herbal Gardens Network, and Tree-Planting & Restoration. His approach is anchored in Seveneva’s 7E Framework—Educate, Empower, Equip, Encourage, Engage, Energize, Elevate—and a clear focus on results: higher farm incomes, stronger village services, and survival-adjusted green cover.

Umakanta collaborates with FPOs, SHGs, schools, panchayats, government departments, CSR teams, and local NGOs to turn local effort into lasting impact.
